Not everyone is admitted to the Kaizen Program.
The Kaizen Psychotherapy Weight Management
and Control Program is designed for the medically
diagnosed obese patient, with a BMI above 30,
caused by a combination of excessive food intake,
lack of physical activity, genetic susceptibility,
endocrine disorders, medications, or mental
disorder, or a combination thereof.
It is widely known that changes to diet and exercising are the main
treatment. However, psychotherapy treatment is the most effective
but the least heard of as it requires professionals, and can not be
sold as a diet pill or program. That is why you may have never heard
about it.
If you have tried diets, medications, and other methods to loose
wight but have regained it shortly thereafter, our Program will help
you gain the necessary knowledge to retrain your mind, while
adjusting your weight slowly, and in time stabilizing your brain-body
to the appropriate healthy level. Attain the looks, and lifestyle you
always wanted and needed.
This is an intensive psychotherapy program, conducted in a foreign
country, whereby the level of commitment and responsibility, as well
as of the outcome is much higher than those offered and provided
within the US. You will be traveling, and staying at various locations,
eating exotic foods; you will be away from your comfort zone, away
from your refrigerator. Away also from your family, friends, pets, local
supermarket, pharmacy, and from Ben & Jerry’s.
Therefore, before we admit anyone to our Program, you must meet
certain medical, clinical, and financial criteria. We need to make sure
your are physically and mentally fit to travel with us for the duration
of the program, that you will not become a liability to us because of
your health, disability, mental state, and the like. You must be
medically able to participate (not medically fragile or lacking
mobility). Sorry, but this is not an ADA able program, Belize does not
meet ADA standards, therefore, wheelchair bound, or deaf people
requiring certain ADA benefits required by law in the US, are not
eligible.
But first things first, you must be self-pay.
We do not take insurance. However, you
may qualify for a Tax deduction.
At any time you may email us any and all
questions about our Program before making
any decision, but once you select the date of
the Program and make the 20% refundable
deposit demonstrating that you are able to
pay for the treatment, you initiate the Admission Process. We will
email you an Admission Application which will require a short
paragraph of your motivation for treatment; and to detail your
medical history with a list of all current and past medications. Sign
an authorization for us to request your medical history including
name of primary and weight-loss physician(s), etc.
Depending on the clinical review, we may request that you ask
your personal physician or endocrinologist to order new lab work
on specific panels in order to establish baselines or to evaluate
your eligibility for the Program at this time.
You may not be declined to participate at all, but to adjust certain
health or mental issues at hand before we can admit you; it would
be just a matter of time.
Interview:
As part of the admissions process one or more interviews will be conducted to make sure you are eligible for the Program, to answer any and all the questions you or your love ones may have, and to make sure you are completely at ease with the the decision you have made. It is a life-changing process and we want to be supportive from the very first and meaningful contact. The cost of the 3-week Program is variable, depending on the season; however, is all- inclusive, block-to-block” from Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, or Los Angeles, on SouthWest Airlines. Local transportation, hotel, meals, excursions, activities, and all the clinical, psycho-educational, therapies, lectures, contents materials; including massage, yoga, paddle-boards, kayaks, snorkeling, etc., is included… mostly everything is included, except the souvenirs, and some alcohol and local substances you may want to try.International Traveling
You will be traveling to Belize, Central America. While US citizens do not need visas, a current passport not to expire within 6 months from the date of travel will be required.Hotels and Accommodation
Due to the seasonal changes in the hospitality industry of the Caribbean destinations, Participants as well as the entire staff is placed in various local hotels, in double occupancy rooms. This is a Tropical destination, therefore, you should not expect 4 or 5-star hotels, however, you will be treated really well and care for honestly with the best local smile we’ll never find back in the States… Depending on the season, it will be warm, hot, or very hot! But you’ll be served the best drinks and the best foods, with the best smiles… Meals and Entertainment
